Inmate messaging apps are the best way to keep in contact with a friend or relative who is currently in jail. These apps are specially made to be compliant with prison regulations and permit family members and friends to send and receive messages, photos, eCards, video calls, and money into their trust account at the prison. There are additional federal inmate apps that provide additional services, such as video visits and phone calls.
JPay lets, for instance, friends and family members to send money directly into an inmate’s trust account, as well as videos, emails, photos and eCards. It also lets them create personal postcards using photos of their own. It's also a safer and more secure alternative to traditional mail.
Another popular app for texting prisoners is GettingOut. It allows "simple reliable and secure communication" between inmates and their loved ones. The app, which is available in select correctional facilities, allows inmates to upload photos and message their family members and friends using their tablets.
